Do Gladiolus flower bulbs require a novice to be maintained?

I am quite a novice gardener who needed something that would be impressive yet not too demanding. I read about the abodelook blog about the Gladiolus flower and went ahead to give it a trial. I purchased their starter kit and a few bulbs and they are currently growing well.
